House 7.9

House 7.9 Larger than life
House showed a man come down with an illness X. The guy's a rocker, who leaves his family to go do his own thing (which is what we already saw in episode 5.21 called "Saviors", only that time it was an activist). Cuddy's mother came by, and her antics were slightly amusing. The medicine part of the episode was less than impressive. Amber Tamblyn's character Masters hasn't really budded yet, or rather they haven't found a way to make it work entirely (compare her for example to Cutthroat bitch, who was an instant success). Chase and Foreman doing rock-paper-scissors to decide who goes to help Masters was kind of funny but felt a bit forced. Like the writers thought "oh, we're doing a funny bit now". The "you have to choose between Huddy or Hilson" bit didn't really shock anyone, I think. What did, however, make me laugh was when House drugged Cuddy's mom and Wilson and the cuddling on the couch that ensued. I think it's good that Taub and his wife finally called it quits.

-medecine is just the uninteresting side story
-the background of the sick person was boring and already done in House-verse
+House drugging the wonder twins
-Not a lot of House being House
+though his ploy to get rid of Cuddy and Wilson was pretty amusing
-all in all, a pretty boring episode

If this doesn't pick up, I might give this show up.
